Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
