Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
