Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
