Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
