Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and the smooth runners 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
