Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
