Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
