Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
