Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
