Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
