Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
