Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
