AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
