Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
