Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
