Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
