Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
