Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
