Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
