Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
