Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
