Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
