Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
