Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
