Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
