Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
