Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
