Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
