Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
