Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
