AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
