The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the mount. 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And the swollen sea 6 the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 The mountains move and fly away, 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
