The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 The roof raised high, 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 No one can avert it. 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with all kinds of fruit and meat, whatever they may desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
