The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 By the book inscribed. 2 in an exposed parchment 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). 5 and by the swelling ocean, 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 none can avert that. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 “Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah). 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
