The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 And the Book written 2 On an open record. 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 By the roof elevated. 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 No one can avert it. 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Those who sport entering into vain discourses. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
