The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 and the Book inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 (They will be told): “Eat and drink to your hearts' content as a reward for your deeds.” 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
