The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 who divert themselves with idle chatter: 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 “This is the Hell which you used to give the lie to.” 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
