The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 by the much-visited House, 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 and the sea swarming, 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Then woe that day unto the deniers 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
