The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 and the Book inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 And the House frequented, 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And the swollen sea, 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 there is none to avert it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 and the mountains will move with [an awesome] movement. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 This is the fire which you used to give the lie to. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
