The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 On an open record. 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 and the uplifted roof 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
