The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the mount. 1 and a Book inscribed 2 on wide-open scrolls. 3 by the House inhabited 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 none can avert that. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
