The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 By the House Frequented. 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 This is the fire which you used to give the lie to. 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
