The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the mount 1 and by the Book in lines 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and the sea that is full 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 such as play at plunging, 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 Roast therein; endure it or endure it not, thereof it is equal unto you. Ye are only being requited for that which ye have been working. 16 Surely the godfearing shall be in gardens and bliss, 17 Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
