The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 And the Book written 2 In parchment spread open 3 By the House Frequented. 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 and the sea that is full 6 surely thy Lord's chastisement is about to fall; 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 The mountains move and fly away, 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
