The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the Visited House, 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. 24 And they [who are thus blest] will turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
