The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 By the book inscribed. 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 by the House inhabited 4 And the roof exalted, 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 There is none who could avert it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic or do you not still see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
