Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 By a Decree inscribed 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 by the House inhabited 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 and the mountains will move with [an awesome] movement. 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 Those who sport entering into vain discourses. 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
