The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Mount 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 By the House Frequented. 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 there is none to avert it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
