The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 by the Visited House, 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- 6 surely thy Lord's chastisement is about to fall; 7 none can avert that. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 “This is the Hell which you used to give the lie to.” 14 Is it magic or do you not still see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Surely the godfearing shall be in gardens and bliss, 17 Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
