Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
